This simple and easy-to-follow itinerary is based on my own experience when I visited Bir with my friends. We followed this plan, and trust me, it was the best way to explore Bir Billing without any rush or confusion. Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, this itinerary will ensure that you don’t miss out on anything.
Day 1: Waterfalls, Cafés & a Magical Sunset
10:00 AM – Arrival & Check-in at Madpackers
After an overnight Volvo journey, we reached Bir early in the morning and checked into Madpackers Hostel. It’s a great stay option for backpackers, with a lively atmosphere and comfortable rooms.

11:00 AM – Brunch at Garden Café (200m from Madpackers, 5 min walk)
Freshened up and hungry, we headed straight to Garden Café, a cozy spot with outdoor seating. Their pancakes, sandwiches, and coffee were just what we needed to fuel up for the day!
12:30 PM – Chokling Monastery & Coffee Break (1 km from Garden Café, 10 min walk)
Next, we visited the Chokling Monastery, a peaceful place with stunning Tibetan architecture and a giant prayer wheel grand stupa and spiritual vibes.

After soaking in the vibes, we walked to Bhoomi Café for a cup of coffee and some delicious pastries.

2:00 PM – Bangoru Waterfall Trek (5 km from Bir, 20 min cab ride)
Time for some adventure! We hired a cab and reached the starting point of the Bangoru Waterfall trek. It’s an easy 30-minute walk through lush greenery, leading to a serene waterfall. The best part? Eating Maggi and sipping chai with our feet dipped in the chilled flowing water! The sound of the waterfall, the crisp mountain air, and hot food—it was pure bliss. A must-experience moment! [Guide is must there , usually they charge upto ₹300 per person (may vary)]

5:30 PM – Sunset at the Paragliding Landing Site (5 km from Bangoru, 20 min ride)
We got back to Bir just in time for a mesmerizing sunset at the Landing Site, where paragliders land after their flight. Sitting on the grass, watching the sky turn golden—it was pure magic!
7:30 PM – Dinner at Mafia Café (1.5 km from Landing Site, 5 min ride)
For dinner, we headed to Mafia Café, a dreamy place with live music, dim lights, and a relaxing ambiance. Their pizzas and wraps are a must-try!

Day 2: Sunrise, Paragliding & Temple Visit
6:30 AM – Sunrise at the Landing Site
We woke up early and walked to the Landing Site again to catch the sunrise. Trust me, it’s worth it! The cold breeze, quiet surroundings, and rising sun make for an unforgettable moment.

8:00 AM – Paragliding from Billing (Billing is 14 km from Bir, 40 min jeep ride)
Now, the most exciting part—paragliding from Asia’s highest take-off point! We took a jeep to Billing and experienced 15-20 minutes of pure thrill, soaring above valleys and mountains. ₹2,000 per person (may vary).

9:30 AM – Souvenir Shopping & Breakfast at June 16 Café
After landing, we roamed the local market, picking up souvenirs like Tibetan prayer flags and handpainted fridge magnets and prayer wheel keychains etc. Then, we stopped by June 16 Café for a hearty breakfast. Their pancakes, and smoothies were delicious!

11:00 AM – Visit to Deer Park Institute (800m from June 16 Café, 5 min walk)
A peaceful spot dedicated to Buddhist philosophy, Deer Park Institute is a great place to just sit, relax, and soak in the positive energy.

12:00 PM – Sherabling Monastery (8 km from Bir, 30 min cab ride)
This monastery is huge, stunning, and less crowded. The golden Buddha statues and prayer halls are breathtaking. If you love peaceful places, don’t skip this one!
2:00 PM – Lunch at The Northern Café (6 km from Sherabling, 20 min ride)
For lunch, we went to The Northern Café, a hilltop eatery with the best views in Bir! Their noodles, sidu and rajma chawal are highly recommended.

3:30 PM – Baijnath Temple Visit (By Local Bus) (12 km from Bir, 30 min ride)
From Bir Chowk, we took a local bus (₹30) to Baijnath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples in Himachal. The place has a divine energy, perfect for ending the trip on a spiritual note. (Last bus from Bir to Baijnath – 5:30 PM)

6:00 PM – Bus Back to Delhi from Baijnath Bus Stand
After a fulfilling weekend, we boarded our bus from Baijnath Bus Stand and headed home with amazing memories and stories to tell!
Best Time to Visit Bir Billing
- October–June → Best for paragliding & sightseeing.
- March–May → Perfect for clear skies & pleasant weather.
- July–September → Monsoons make it lush green but no paragliding.
- December–February → Cold but offers stunning winter views.
